Harney and Sons Fine Tea Samples

It’s Tuesday, which means it’s time for Tuesday Starts with Tea. No book this week, this week I’m just focusing on tea. In today’s post I am going to tell you about the samples I have tried from Harney and Sons.

When you place an order with Harney and Son’s from their website, they send you samples along with your order. Since I order from them frequently my stack of samples was starting to get pretty big. I decided it would be a good idea to try them all and share my thoughts with you guys.

It’s no secret that I love Harney and Sons, most of my Tuesday Starts with Tea blog posts feature them. Ever since a friend introduced me to this brand a few years ago I have been a spoiled tea snob. I no longer have time for low quality tea.

Rooibos Chai:

  • Caffeine Free
  • Herbal
  • Cloves, Cinnamon and Cardamom

This was my first time to ever have Rooibos. I loved this tea. The only way I really know how to describe it, is that it tastes like Christmas. I added a little bit of honey and it was delicious. I will most definitely be buying some of this. If you want to see what Christmas taste like you can order some here: https://amzn.to/3hQyS2Z .

Decaffeinated Ceylon:

  • Black Tea

When I first tried this I thought it tasted really…um, well…sad. I blame the lack of caffeine. After I added honey though, everything turned around and I ended up being sad when I reached the bottom of the teacup.

Just as it states on the package it is a very smooth tea.

I love a good dark/bold black tea and with a little help from my favorite organic honey this one makes me very happy. I will definitely be keeping this stocked in my tea cabinet from now on.

Organic Ginger Turmeric:

  • Caffeine free
  • Organic
  • Apple pieces, Ginger root, Lemongrass, Turmeric, Hibiscus, Beetroot, Nutmeg, Cardamom

I love that this packaging had a Dachshund on it! Made me happy when I saw it.

This blend was super refreshing. I feel like it would be really nice to drink on a day when you aren’t feeling well. The taste reminds me of Fall. This doesn’t even need a sweetener added to it, it is really good on its own. As soon as I run out of my Organic Lemon Ginger from Steep (by Bigelow) I will be ordering this.

Organic Green:

  • With Citrus and Ginkgo
  • Handpicked from China

You guys! This is so good! I am pretty sure I just found my new favorite green tea. The citrus in this makes it super refreshing. I’m glad they gave me two samples of this, because this was another one where I was actually sad when my tea cup was empty. I loved this! I’m totally buying this in bulk as soon as possible. It doesn’t need anything added to it either it is so good on it’s own, although of course you can add stuff if you want to.

I didn’t know what Ginkgo was, so I had to look it up. Apparently It is really good for your brain and helps fight against Dementia and Alzheimer’s.

I hope you enjoyed this post. I can’t wait to try even more teas from Harney and Sons soon…when I do you know I’m going to tell you all about it.

Right now I am reading another book by Mindy Kaling…so don’t worry the book part of Tuesday Starts with Tea will be back soon

Do you have a favorite tea brand? Let me know in the comments, I’m always up for trying new stuff.

I’m Worth It and So are You

Today’s blog post is all about knowing that I’m worth it (…guess what? You are too!)

I remember one day when I was 5 years old, I was laying on my bed waiting for my family to get ready to go to church (or some kind of family dinner or something) all I know is I had on a fancy little dress.

Advertisements

While I was waiting I decided to pray. At 5 years old most little girls probably pray things like “I want my Mommy to buy me a new Polly Pocket set, and a new baby doll.”

Advertisements

Not me…you know what I prayed for? Somehow even as a little girl I knew that life was going to be more difficult for me because of my wheelchair than it would be for “normal” girls. I prayed that when I grew up I would find a man that would love me regardless of my chair; that they would love me just the way I am.

Here I am 30 years old and so far I’m still alone, always have been (aside from Jonathon.) We all have that one thing we want, whether it’s a baby…a specific job, our dream house; we all have something that we want above anything else. For me it has always been a relationship. A lot of people say a relationship won’t make you happy or whatever. Excuse me, but I call bulls*** on that. When I was with Jonathon I was the happiest I have ever been. I didn’t know it was even possible to be that happy before then to be completely honest. I’m not saying that is the only way I will ever be happy, but I know when I am not alone and I have a relationship I am at my happiest.

Over the last few days I have seen a lot of posts and/or videos pop up in my social media feeds about being worthy and knowing your worth, both as a woman with a disability and just a woman in general…pretty sure the universe has been trying to tell me something.

Advertisements

I’ll leave a few of the videos that have been popping up in my feeds below, because I bet it will do you guys some good to see them too.

First up Viola Davis and L’ORÉAL:

Next Ace Metaphor:

Ace mentions in the video above the difference between a “change girl” and the girls that have the value of a hundred dollar bill. I know for a fact that I am not a “change girl” I know I am one of those hundred dollar girls. One day the right man is gonna come around and realize that I’m worth it.

I’m so tired of the guys that don’t see what I am worth because they are only looking at my wheelchair, and the guys that only want to play with my feelings (and lady bits) but don’t want to commit to a relationship. I don’t have time for that anymore. I’m worthy of the real deal. I know I’m going to get exactly what I want one day, I’m tired of being alone…I don’t deserve to be alone. I’m worth it; and whatever it is that you want, you are worth it too. I promise.

Countertop Dishwasher: Danby

I’m so excited you guys, I finally got a Danby Countertop dishwasher.

Advertisements

The full size dishwasher that came with my apartment hasn’t been working since October (it never worked well, even when it was technically still working.) I have been telling the front office and maintenance men about it over and over again; still they never did anything about it…which isn’t a surprise really, seeing as I have been asking for my fridge to be fixed since the day I moved in (In the beginning of 2019.) Right now they get an easy out with Covid-19 going on, but I don’t understand why they couldn’t have fixed it way before?

I still don’t have the pretty fridge I want yet, but at least I took matters into my own hands and bought a small dishwasher. I’ll work on getting my own fridge soon.

I can’t reach the kitchen sink very well, which makes washing dishes really hard for me. I can’t wait to get my own house, that way everything will be wheelchair friendly like I need it to be.

Advertisements

Having a countertop dishwasher has already made things so much easier for me. I wish I would have gotten one of these a long time ago. For months I had just been eating frozen or really simple, mess free meals to make things easier on myself…which isn’t always healthy. Now I can get back to actually cooking; which is something I love to do. (Not to brag or anything, but I am really good at it!)

This little baby dishwasher is just as powerful as a full size dishwasher…honestly it is the most powerful dishwasher I have ever had. All of the apartments I have ever lived in have had pretty crappy cheap ones. It is really simple to set up, just connect the machine to your kitchen sink and it is good to go.

Isn’t it cute?! I love it! This little thing can hold quite a lot too. It can be a little bit of a challenge to get all of your pots/pans and dishes to fit at first; you get the hang of it eventually. (Obviously the bigger the item you put in the smaller the load will have to be.) Make sure you use a rinse agent along with the detergent…it will make a difference.

This little one is the perfect size for single people.

Which reminds me, I’m so tired of being single…as you can see my little dishwasher is on the kitchen floor right now; I kept thinking all day today about all of the ways my life is going to improve once I am not single anymore. For one: It’ll be nice to have him around so he can help me do all of the manly type stuff, you know…fixing things and heavy lifting, like: actually putting my countertop dishwasher on…um, the countertop.
