I have had a lot of time to watch TV lately; I figured I would fill you in on what I’ve been watching.
For the past few weeks I haven’t really been feeling the best, which is why I haven’t been posting on the blog or on social media lately. I am finally feeling better now, so it’s time to get back at it. Just gonna throw this out there…no, it was not Corona Virus.
The Great is a Hulu Original, I watched all 10 episodes in two days. It’s a show loosely based on Catherine The Great, Empress of Russia. I loved it! I really hope there is going to be a second season.
I love shows set in the olden days like that. Which reminds me I need to finish season 3 of another Hulu Original, Harlots. It’s about well…harlots in a brothel in the United Kingdom during the 18th century.
I finally watched Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker a few days ago. I know, I’m super late to seeing it. I had planned to go see it in theaters with a friend, but those plans fell through…then I planned to watch it with the same friend once it came out on streaming services…but life kept getting in the way, and now Corona Virus ruined my plans with all this social distancing mess, so I caved and watched it all by myself on Disney Plus. Even though it was really lame that I had to watch it alone…I thought it was a great movie.
A few nights ago I watched Rocketman for the first time. Rocketman which you may have guessed is a movie about the life of Elton John. I have always liked Elton John, but I didn’t really realize how much I liked him until I saw this movie. I’ll admit I thought a few parts were a little strange, but I really enjoyed the movie.
I also started and finished the current seasons of the HBO show Barry. I absolutely loved it! Very Dexter-ish. Dexter is one of my favorite shows ever…so I was all about this. Barry is a hit man turned actor. Plus, I am a big Bill Hader (he plays the role of Barry) fan.
Which ties into the latest show I have been binge watching…The Mindy Project. Bill Hader plays one of Mindy’s boyfriends. As you know I am a fan of The Office, and I have been reading Mindy Kaling’s books. If you don’t watch The Office well, you should fix that (Mindy plays the role of Kelly Kapoor.)
Anyway, I am already almost done with season three of The Mindy Project, I love it. It’s funny (obviously, it’s written by and stars Mindy.) This show has a great cast of guest stars…a few from the cast of The Office, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (which is another one of my favorite shows.) The Mindy Project follows Mindy’s life in New York as she searches for love and works as an OB-GYN.
I feel like I have been watching TV way too much lately…but then again when you live alone during a pandemic what else is there to do?
If you have any shows or movies to recommend to me, feel free to leave them in the comments.
