I’ve had writer’s block all day. Normally when it is a posting day (Friday, Sunday, Tuesday) I know exactly what I want to write about, but today is not like that. It’s 9:45 PM, which means I need to have this post up soon.
So…I guess I’ll just sit here on my couch, staring at my Macbook screen until I can think of something…
Hmm…how about a POF story, It’s been a while since I have shared one of those?
Yeah..let’s do that.
Advertisements
This was from two summers ago. I think we can all agree that this one doesn’t even come close to holding a candle to whalecum, but I still find it interesting; because really what did Damon expect to happen, you know?
Maybe he expected to get a few naughty pictures from me. That’s not my style though…so even if he would’ve been real, the odds would have not been in his favor.
Advertisements
Kudos to Damon, at least he spelled welcome right. Haha! 😉
Also, at least he was honest at the end of it all and didn’t just ghost me the way most guys do.
What a jerk though, I spent most of my day talking to this guy that day. Just goes to show you POF and online dating are, for the most part a waste of time. I have found a few guys on there who have turned into great friends, if nothing else…so it’s not all bad.

I found this video yesterday when a friend shared it on Facebook. I have always been a huge Paramore fan, so I was really excited to see this. Machine Gun Kelly cover of “Misery Business” with Blink-182 drummer, Travis Barker.
Advertisements
Machine Gun Kelly can also be found behind the drums in Netflix’s take on Motley Crue’s The Dirt. He plays Tommy Lee. (What is it with me and The Dirt lately? I’ve been on a big Motley Crue kick.) You may also recognize him from his role on the popular Netflix movie Bird Box…where he played the part of Felix.
Advertisements
I saw Machine Gun Kelly live when he opened for Fall Out Boy in October of 2018. I have never been a fan of Rap to be honest. I went to that show as a FOB fan, so I didn’t really pay as much attention to MGK’s set as I should have; I regret that these days; since I am now a fan of his movies and I will admit now, a few of his songs.
“Bad Things”
and of course “The Dirt (Est. 1981)” which is a song he did with Motley Crue
Advertisements
I rewatched The Dirt on Netflix today, and I have to say I liked the movie better before I read the book. The whole time I was watch it, I kept getting frustrated…and thinking things like “That’s not how it happened in the book/real life!” I still love the movie, but the book is way better.
Here is the original version of “Misery Business” by Paramore
Advertisements
I actually really enjoy both; but…Paramore will always do it best in my opinion.
What version do you like best?

It’s Tuesday, which means it is time to wrap up The Dirt by Motley Crue. In case you missed it here is part one of The Dirt.
For tea this week I decided to keep it basic and stuck with Organic Black Tea by Lipton.
Advertisements
This tea is tasty, but be careful not to brew it too long; it is pretty strong and if brewed even a little bit too long develops a bitterness. I try to brew it around 4 to 5 minutes. After steeping I let the tea cool for a while and then add in some organic raw honey.
Advertisements
You can find this tea at Kroger, or if you are a big tea drinker like I am you can get it on Amazon…they have a set of 5 boxes with 72 tea bags in each: here.
Advertisements
Now, on to the book.
This half of the book was the most interesting in my opinion. I mean, that’s when Motley Crue went on tour with Ozzy Osbourne; during the tour Ozzy could be found snorting ants (yes, the insects) and even licking Nikki Sixx’s urine off of the pavement with a whole crowd watching. Um, gross!
Later, when Motley Crue was in England for their tour with Iron Maiden Nikki practically lived out a Beatles song (“She Came in Through the Bathroom Window”) To Nikki’s surprise, a fan climbed through Nikki’s hotel bathroom window…and well to keep this clean and PG I’ll just say that the girl got exactly what she came looking for, right there in the bathroom.
While on that same tour Motley Crue went into full rockstar mode and threw a TV and even a bed out the hotel window right on top of a few brand new cars parked below.
Advertisements
Vince Neil and his friend Razzle go on an alcohol run to keep a party going, but that results in a car accident, leaving Razzle dead.
Razzle’s death obviously messes with Vince, and messes up Motley Crue’s vibe for quite a long time. Around this time, Mick has been drinking heavily and in his drunken state decided to end his life. He walks into the ocean and lets the water over take him. When he later washes up on shore…Mick thinks he has died so, since he’s dead he walks through a glass window. This is the exact moment he realizes that he is in fact not dead at all, and just ended up almost knocking himself out.
Advertisements
Nikki’s drug use is starting to get out of control, which he realizes after he pees on Roger Taylor of Queen, as a result of his heroin haze.
Despite managers, friends and even a fortune teller telling Nikki he would be dead soon if he didn’t stop using…he continues to use. He dies shortly after, but only for a little while; Nikki is brought back to life and still manages to do heroin later that day. That is when he and the rest of the band decide it is finally time to clean up their act and all of them enroll in rehab to sober up.

I love this book. Honestly it doesn’t have any dull parts, every page is filled with crazy stories of things they went through as a band or as individuals. Definitely a page turner. Another thing I love is how the book is broken down in parts, and each member tell you the story of Motley Crue from their own perspective.
You can get the book here if you are interested. If you prefer hardcover like me you can get it here.
If books aren’t your thing you should watch the movie, The Dirt. It’s on Netflix. I gotta say though while I love them both…the book is so much better, seeing as it is able to go into so much more detail and doesn’t have to be edited; unlike the movie…in order to be fit for television.
See you here next Tuesday when we dive into the books written by the stars of The Office. I haven’t decided which one I want to start with yet, so if you have a suggestion, feel free to tell me which one you think I should read first.

When I was younger my sister, Heather used to love playing pranks on me and scaring me all the time…probably because I was always so jumpy. The time that sticks out to me the most; is and always will be…the Barbie mask situation.
Advertisements
My entire life I have had a deep fear of anything that involves costumes, masks…basically people dressed up as something they aren’t. This includes, mascots, Disney characters…(which made going to Disney World in the 6th grade super fun for me.) Easter bunny, Chuck E. Cheese or even Santa Claus.
Advertisements
I love the idea of Halloween; the scary movies and television shows are awesome, the decorations (I love and use as home decor all year round.) and of course the candy. Don’t expect me to want to partake in trick-or-treating in anyway. Halloween comes around and you can find me cuddled up on my turquoise sofa with a bulk size bag of miniature Reese’s cups, watching American Horror Story. This is not Three’s Company…don’t you come and knock on my door.

The Barbie Mask:
Growing up we lived in a house with a bathroom I shared with my sister. The bathtub/shower had a removable bench, so that I could take showers; after a certain age taking a bath was out of question for me. Lifting me out of the tub was hard on my parents, because I was basically dead weight back then.
Only problem was the bench was too far away from the shower temperature controls, so when the water would start getting cold I would have to yell for a family member to come turn the water up.
Advertisements
One night, (I was probably 6 or 7 years old at the time) as I was showering the water went cold. I yelled out for help. Heather came to the rescue.
“I’m coming, hold on a second.” she said. Shortly after she slowly pulls back the shower curtain. In a really creepy, girly voice says “Hi Lauren.” I look at her completely terrified!
Advertisements
Why?
Oh, only because she was wearing this exact Barbie mask:
It was just a random night by the way, it wasn’t even Halloween. So, I definitely did not see this coming at all.
I’m sure I started screaming bloody murder and crying. Heather probably thought it was hilarious. Me? Not so much.
Advertisements
That Barbie mask scarred me for life. (I didn’t even want to look at the picture of it as it was uploading in this post.) To this day, even though I am 30 years old and live in my own apartment…where I can control the water temperature all on my own; I refuse to take a shower at night time, because when I do I always find myself peeking behind the curtain every time I hear a noise; as if Barbie is there…planning my murder.

With all of this social distancing lately. I have been reading a lot, but I have also been listening to Office Ladies podcast.
You guys probably already know I love The Office, and I have good ole Scott to thank for that. He convinced me to watch past the first few episodes, and even though he has since forgotten how to text me back, I will forever be grateful of him for showing me how amazing it is.
Advertisements
Office Ladies is a podcast done by Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey. Also known as Pam Beasley and Angela Martin of The Office. They are best friends in real life, so they came up with the idea to start a podcast, reminiscing their days starring in The Office.
Advertisements
I started listening a few months ago when they first started doing the podcast; but unintentionally fell away from Office Ladies a few episodes in. I guess life got in the way or something.
Advertisements
Since I’ve been stuck in my apartment for a while due to social distancing, I’ve started it up again. Each week they feature a different episode of The Office; they go in order of which they aired on televison.
Advertisements
As of right now I am on episode 7 (The Dundies) of The Office Ladies podcast, out of the 19 they’ve done so far.
I love this podcast so far, and I’m not even a podcast person; this is the first one I’ve every really subscribed to.
Jenna and Angela breakdown the episode of the week and tell you behind the scenes facts about filming The Office. I’ve learned a lot of cool things I would have never known as an Office fan otherwise. They even call other cast members on air sometimes, so they can add in their two cents about the episode being discussed.
I really like listening to Office Ladies because it gives you a way to kind of get to know all of the actresses and actors a little better.
Advertisements
If you are also a fan of The Office you can listen to the podcast on your iPhone with the podcast app that comes preinstalled. Just open it and type Office Ladies into the search section, add their podcast to your library and you are good to go. You can also listen via your computer by clicking here.
Also, I bought the books by every star of The Office that has written one, and I am going to read them for Tuesday Starts with Tea, so be on the look out for those in the coming weeks!

Welcome to the second installment of Tuesday Starts with Tea. If you missed the first one, don’t worry you can catch up right here. This week’s Tuesday Starts with Tea is about The Dirt by Motley Crue.
So far I am only 84 pages in, but it’s Tuesday, so I knew I needed to get a post up. Which means I am going to have to give The Dirt more than one Tuesday, gonna have to break into parts. So, welcome to part one of The Dirt.

For tea this week I drank Elderberry Herbal Tea by Simple Truth Organic. Simple Truth Organic is a Kroger brand, so you’ll have to go to Kroger if you want to get some. (Duh…haha!) I tried to find a tea similar to link for you on Amazon, but they literally have no elderberry teas.
With everyone worried about Corona Virus and all that stuff right now I decided to throw this tea into my Instacart order this month, up until this point I had never tried it before.
Advertisements
Elderberry is very good for helping you build or keep your immune system strong. Even though I haven’t been going out of the apartment for a while, I still figured building up my immune system would be a good idea; because I mean, has it ever been a bad idea? Probably not. I haven’t really gone anywhere since the end of February, remember when I saw Brian Mullen? Not so much because of Corona Virus, being in a wheelchair can mean low income, because of that I have to be frugal with my money.
Advertisements
Government assistance, isn’t always that helpful…if you know what I mean. Which is a lot of (aside for my love of writing) the reason I started this blog to be honest. Extra money is always a good thing.
All that being said, I’m not going to lie, I’m getting pretty lonely, and who knows when we can go back to living our regular lives…thanks to this virus. At least I’ve got a lot of books to read.
Woah! Why do I always seem to get off on a tangent. My bad.
Back to the tea. This tea is an herbal tea, which actually means there is no tea in it at all, did you know that? If you have ever had a Very Berry pie from Marie Callendar’s, then this tea tastes just like that, but with a more intense flavor. Steep for 5 minutes (any longer and I’ve noticed it gets a bit bitter.) I really like it!
Now let’s get to the book.
Advertisements
The Dirt is all about Motley Crue’s journey to becoming…well, Motley Crue. I have to keep this family friendly per the rules of WordPress. That could be difficult considering this book is all about the life of Rockstars. I think we all know how that usually goes, right?
Drugs, lots of girls…and lots of booze.
This is a very good book as far as I’ve read. I can’t remember which member of Motley Crue wrote this part, but I remember reading somewhere in the book that one of the members had mentioned how a lot of the things they had written down in their life had actually started happening. I wish I could find that part again, so I could give you the exact details. I just looked through all of the parts I have already read, but now I can’t find it anywhere. Probably because I’m looking for it. If/when I find it, I’ll make sure to add it here.
Advertisements
I really like that part of the book though, cause that is very true. It goes along with what I was saying in this post. I love that even Motley Crue realizes that on some level.
I have caught myself laughing quite a few times while reading this. Also there have been many times that I have had to stop reading for a minute to reflect on what I just read. Thinking: Wow! They really just said that?! Or I can’t believe they just did that! I really do believe it though, I’ve spent a lot of time with rockstars myself, they do some pretty wild stuff. I love it though, they keep things interesting. That’s why I like to hang out with musicians and rockstars; I don’t like boring people.
Advertisements
Where I’m at right now in The Dirt, Motley Crue is just starting to get noticed, they’ve started their own record label, are partying hard, playing gigs aroud town and finally selling albums. Can’t wait to keep reading.
If you want to read this book you can buy it: here (paperback)
If you are like me and prefer hardcover books you can buy it: here
If reading isn’t your thing, or even if it is you can always watch Netflix’s adaptation of the The Dirt. On Netflix (Duh!) under the same name…The Dirt. I highly recommend this book and movie to anyone who is a fan of Motley Crue, or fans of movies and books about music in general.
See you back here next Tuesday for part two of this book.

This week isn’t about a band, but it is about a musical TV show. Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist. I originally started watching the show for Lauren Graham. Love her!!! Any show I’ve watched of Lauren’s has been great.
Gilmore Girls: My all-time favorite show ever, always has been ever since the first episode aired On October 5th 2000. I was only 10 years old at the time, and I didn’t understand most of the references in their fast-talking witty banter, but that didn’t matter, I loved it anyway.
I love rewatching Gilmore Girls now as I get older, its nice to finally be old enough…or cultured enough to catch the jokes. Some of them are still lost on me, but I’m pretty proud to admit that I understand most of them now.
Advertisements
After Gilmore Girls ended Lauren took on the role of Sarah Braverman on NBC’s Parenthood. Man! Parenthood was the best. It’s similar to This Is Us, in the way that it was very family oriented…and made you cry in some type of way during every episode. Which makes sense because This Is Us also airs on NBC.
Now Lauren plays Joan, on Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist; Joan is the boss of a Tech savvy company. She plays a sort of upright character, which is very different from the fun, silly Loralei Gilmore that I’m used to.
The show’s main character Zoey has be given a new gift of hearing people around her sing their inner feelings, thanks to a mishap in an MRI machine.
As much as I love music…I don’t like musicals, but I love Lauren, and have been a fan of Jane Levy (Zoey) ever since she played Tessa on Suburgatory. So I’m trying my best to make this work. With each episode I like it more, but I prefer the plot before and after all the singing and dance numbers. If you’re confused, watch an episode or two and you’ll see what I mean. However, I like the fact that she can finally communicate with her disabled Dad after receiving her newfound gift.
Advertisements
Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist Airs Sundays on NBC, 8:00 Central Time. This show can also be watched on Hulu.
Here’s a trailer:
Have you seen the show? What do think about it. Let me know in the comments.

Today is the very first installment of Tuesday Starts with Tea, this week is all about Carrie Fisher’s Shockaholic and a crisp Autumn tea by Harney and Sons.
Basically, each week I will read a book while sipping a cup of tea. On Tuesdays I will write a new blog post telling you guys about what I’ve been reading and drinking. I love books and tea, so I found a way to combine my love for them. There are many book, as well as tea bloggers (and tea and/or book lovers who don’t write) in general out there, so hopefully you guys will enjoy this new series. Today I will be focusing on Shockaholic by Carrie Fisher. My tea of choice this week was Cranberry Autumn from Harney and Sons Fine Teas.
Advertisements
Peep the photo of my Grandpa looking like a movie star. 🥰
Why did I buy it? I love Fall and cranberry…I felt like this tea was calling to me. Also, look how cute the packaging is. Red and Orange are two of my favorite colors. (Honestly, I just love any color that isn’t beige or white, or bland in any way. Too boring for me.) I love how Harney’s gives you these little tins; they are so cute!
Cranberry Autumn is a black tea blended with cranberry and orange flavors. Practically the Fall season in liquid form.
Advertisements
The black tea they use to make this blend is very full bodied. Which is nice, because while I love flavors…I want to be able to actually taste the tea; with this tea you definitely can.
This is the only tea I have drank since I ordered it a few weeks ago. (Which is pretty rare for me, I usually like to change things up everyday, so I don’t get bored.) Each day after trying this flavor, I can’t wait to get up; ’cause that means I get to drink it again. (This is not a sponsored post, I promise. I just really love this tea.) However, if they do ever want to sponsor me, I’m totally good with that. You listenin’ Harney’s? 😉
https://amzn.to/336MRLK Or a bag of 50 sachets (This is the one I’m going to have to get soon considering how fast I am going through it.)
You can also buy it directly from Harney and Son’s website. Use (this link) and you can get $5.00 off your first order when you spend $30 or more, which isn’t hard to do…because every time I go to their site I have such a hard time deciding which tea to buy; I just want them all.
Advertisements
Steep this tea for 5 minutes. After I steep it, I let it set and cool for a while, the flavor comes out more when it’s just warm and not hot (probably because waiting makes it not burn you tastebuds off for one thing.) Ha! I’m so impatient sometimes, I can’t help it. I also add a little bit of raw, unfiltered organic honey to add a touch more sweetness.
I’m pretty sure this tea is my new favorite from Harney’s.
Advertisements
Now, let’s get to the book…
Shockaholic is the second book I’ve read of Carrie Fisher’s. The first being Wishful Drinking. (Click links to view each book on Amazon.)
In Shockaholic Carrie writes about her experiences with Electro Shock Therapy, her relationship with her mother; befriending Michael Jackson. Her lack of relationship with her father. A friend dying in her bed when he slept over at her house…and how she was good at helping other people die when it was their time to go. Oh, and lots and lots of drug use.
Carrie is (was) so funny. I loved her writing style.
I originally bought both Wishful Drinking and Shockaholic as a Star Wars fan, but after reading both of these. I’m a fan of hers, not just as Princess Leia, but as Carrie herself.
Advertisements
I highly recommend this book and Wishful Drinking to fans of her. Even if you aren’t into Star Wars these are still interesting reads.
If I had to pick a favorite out of Shockaholic and Wishful Drinking, I would go with Wishful Drinking. Start with it first anyway.
I hope you liked the first Tuesday Starts with Tea. I’ll meet you back here next Tuesday, for whatever other tea I decide to drink while reading The Dirt by: Mötley Crüe.
If you have any tea or book recommendations, please leave them in the comments.

Just finished Shockaholic By: Carrie Fisher last night.
Who do you like to hang out with and why?
Creative people, (Writers, Musicians, Photographers) because they inspire me to be more creative.
What is your favorite holiday and why?
Thanksgiving, I love the food. I could eat Thanksgiving food all year.
Coffee, tea or neither?
I love both! I have found lately that coffee makes me anxious, so I’m trying to stick to tea more often from now on.
Advertisements
Favorite food?
Italian.
Favorite movie?
Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I really love Star Wars too!
How did you celebrate your last birthday?
Didn’t really. Just stayed home.
If Jesus knocked on your door at dinner time, what would you think?
That would be awesome! I’d invite him in for dinner and talk to him for as long as I could.
Advertisements
Would you rather go to a doctor or a dentist?
Neither one, I have a bad case of white coat syndrome. Plus, when I was like 6 years old my dentist hit me on the head and told me I was a bad girl for crying. (He pulled my tooth out and didn’t give me enough numbing medicine) I was a little girl; so yeah, of course I cried.
My Mama called his office to complain about what had happened…and the receptionist told her that I was not the first patient he had done that to.
Probably needless to say but my parents never took me back to that dentist. He was so creepy.
If you had the opportunity to travel in space, would you?
No. For right now, I’m too chicken to even get on a plane.

Last Saturday night I went to a bar (Ton’s Place) to see a friend of mine play. (Brian Mullen)
Advertisements
Bars aren’t really my scene anymore, since I quit drinking in 2015…but I made an exception since this place is pretty close to my apartment and I hadn’t ever had the chance to see Brian play before.
Ton’s Place is pretty small, I like the vibe it has; really friendly staff too. I would definitely go back.
Advertisements
Just remind me to wear a sign around my neck next time that reads: I quit drinking years ago. Don’t offer to buy me a drink. Thanks! 🙂
I got tired of explaining to every guy there that I am sober now.
Advertisements
Next time, I vote Brian plays at a coffee shop, I would never turn down a man offering me free coffee…or tea. I love tea.
I’m from Sheridan, a small; honky tonk of a town in Arkansas. Lived there all my life until I turned 18. As a lot of you probably know Country isn’t really my thing; so I had to get out there.
Sheridan is basically a Wal-Mart, a few dollar stores and a Sonic Drive-in; then you’re done.
Advertisements
However, there are a few little shops and boutiques in “downtown” Sheridan…but from what I can remember none of them are really wheelchair friendly (step ups to get into the shops, and too crowded for a wheelchair if I did happen to make it inside.)
So you can probably see why it was a boring place to live in my case.
I mean how many times can you go to Wal-Mart before it all gets old, you know?
Advertisements
They do have a fairly new coffee shop that I need to go to when I’m in town next, haven’t tried it out yet.
Wow! I really get sidetracked. Whoops!
Advertisements
Anyway the point of all this hometown stuff was because Brian is from Sheridan too.
The town is small; so it’s kind of one of those everybody knows everybody situations. Like, even if you don’t know-know somebody, you still know them…you know? (Channelling my inner Billie Joe Armstrong for this post I guess..)
I don’t think I knew too much more about Brian back then, other than he was/is a musician and I’m pretty sure he was working at a pizza place in town at the time.
It never really occurred to me to listen to his music, ’cause ya know, I was stuck in my “Eww, gross! County music” faze.
It wasn’t until a few months ago, after we had became good friends through Facebook that I decided to cave in and give his music a chance.

YOU GUYS!!!
Basically I feel like an idiot. All this time I was stubborn. (Which is definitely not out of the ordinary for me.)
That night, he went anywhere from original songs, to Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Eagles…to Elton John, and Jimmy Buffett.
The man is so good! Super, super talented.

In fact, I was playing a song of Brian’s while going somewhere with my Mama a few weeks ago and she legit thought it was Randy Travis, she was shocked when I told her who it was.
The song we were listening to was “Back When”
I didn’t take any pictures, I just wanted to enjoy the performance. Although, I did get a photo of his banner/backdrop.
(Are you following me on Instagram? If not…you should fix that.)

His music is available on all platforms, you can stream it wherever you like to listen to your favorite music. (There is also an Irish singer named Brian Mullen)…but don’t get them confused, make sure you go for these recordings:
PS: The theme for my website is not very mobile friendly. I’m planning on getting a mobile friendly one soon. Until then, if you are on a cell phone and want to subscribe via e-mail, or follow my blog through WordPress, so that you’ll always stay updated when I publish a new post…all of the links can be found at the bottom of my site. On a computer everything shows up on the right sidebar as it should.
